K&J Engagements-091I was traveling in Ireland and emailing back and forth to Kristil, setting up out time to Skype to talk about their upcoming wedding! We were halfway around the world when we met. I love the power of technology! While I was gone, Skype became my best friend to keep meeting and staying in touch with my couples.

They were sitting side by side in Jantzen’s apartment, surrounded by the life of college! School logos on their shirts, books and back packs in the corner and roommates coming in from class. Can I just tell you how much I loved those sweet college years? Not the staying up to 3am writing papers and getting homework done, but the freedom and excitement of being on campus. Oh I miss it!

Rothenburg Blog-048As we walked around I kept wondering to myself, “Is this place REAL?”  It looks like something straight out of a book, or a part of the Disneyland theme parks. Trevor laughed at me when I mentioned Disneyland, but I think it is a good description that deserves a little explanation.

One of my FAVORITE parts of Disneyland is how much details there is in each theme. Handrails, streetcars, food vendors, even trashcans are all decorated for the specific part of the theme part. Disney is that good.

Well, as much as I *love* Disney, Rothenburg is detail on a entire separate level. The longer I am here,I think all of Europe might be this way. (Little side note, this is the town that inspired Disney animators when making Pinocchio’s village.

Wedding-445__Breanna McKendrick Photography_Utah Wedding PhotographerI was gearing up for a snowing and cold wedding when Yvonne told me of her  December wedding date. But this Utah winter has been surprisingly warm! I haven’t needed to white knuckle grip my steering wheel while trying to drive through white roads, which I am thrilled about.  Winter weddings are charming. The cozy atmosphere of the Grand America was inviting and warm. The Hotel  had decorated the hall ways and the fireplace mantels with Christmas wreaths, ornaments and stocking. There was a large 25 foot Christmas Tree in manicured courtyard that twinkled from every branch.

Yvonne and Jake took the same chemistry class at Westminster College in the heart of Salt Lake City. They shared the class with Yvonne’s younger sister and the three of them soon became inseparable. They studied together, hung out together, shared mutual friends , and all three of them played lacrosse. It was after one of Yvonne’s lacrosse game when Jake surprised his beautiful girlfriend with a wedding ring and asked Yvonne to marry him.  The two of them moved back east after Jake got accepted to the Uniformed Services Medical School in Maryland, but came back to their home of Utah to get married.

Dawn and Thomas-099__Breanna McKendrick Photography_Utah Wedding PhotographerWe couldn’t walk a few feet on Temple Square without someone passing by and calling out to Dawn and Thomas with a “Congratulations!” or “LOVE your dress. Which was for good reason because Dawns dress was STUNNING! The delicate ivory lace was paired over a dark cream. It had so much depth and was the perfect fit.  Dawn, I hope you find a million reasons to wear that dress again and again because it was made for you! I think one of my favorite things about Dawn and Thomas is how easy it is for them to laugh. I would tell Thomas to lean to Dawns and whisper in her ear, and without hesitation, whatever he said, a charming full laughter would come out of Dawn. It was contagious!

Womens Camera Bags__Breanna McKendrick Photography_Utah Wedding PhotographerFOR SALE! I have been spring cleaning our apartment the last few weeks. I have gone through my closet and gotten rid of old clothes that I never wear, I have cleaned out our storage and linens and this week I have made it to my “camera closet”.

The guest room of our house is where my little office is and the  closet in that room is my Camera storage space. I keep all my flash drives, packaging materials, original lens boxes and camera boxes, and my new Think Tank Roller camera bag.  Since my gear supplies has grown so much, I found that I needed a larger roller bag to hold all my wedding gear instead of my darling shoulder bags. So in effort not to be a pack rat anymore, I am selling some of these great bags! Shipping costs are shown or pick up is available in Salt Lake City, UT.  These are great bags and I am a little sad to see them go. But Trevor also brings up a good point, do I really need 5 camera bags?:)
