The engagement session is often the first time I get to interact with each of my couples. Most of the time, there are some pre-shooting butterflies in each of our stomachs. So what is the best way to calm your nerves and be ready to rock it in front of (and behind) the camera? GET PREPPED! A little preparation here goes a long way. I walked into Gateway Bridal and Prom with searching for the perfect dress. The rows of gowns spread from crisp white to cream ivories. Some of my favorite were the more trendy blush rose gowns. Each one looked like a gown for a different girl and personality. The beading and lace were delicate and curved in perfect curves. I felt like a bride all over again. I remember shooting my dear friend Chelsea’s wedding last year and thinking that everyone in their family seemed so welcoming and fun to be around. They are the type of people that just bring you and and makes you feel like home. So when Chelsea emailed me to let me know that she sent her recently engaged cousin my way, I was thrilled. Andrea emailed me describing a little bit about her wedding day. It was going to be a beautiful purple and yellow wedding (same colors as my wedding in 2011!) with charming DIY vintage details. I knew I wanted to be apart of this day.
Anna looked beautiful in her lace gown from The Bride Shop in downtown Salt Lake City. Its beautiful V neckline and buttons down the back was classic and elegant. She looked so calm and composed, even though it was the start of “the end” of another semester of college. Anna and Sage were in the thick of studying for finals, making sure they were wrapping up all their assignments, AND planning a wedding. They were able to find time to have a beautiful first look session. And they both were stunning. This was one of my favorite first looks ever. loading
