I remember shooting my dear friend Chelsea’s wedding last year and thinking that everyone in their family seemed so welcoming and fun to be around. They are the type of people that just bring you and and makes you feel like home. So when Chelsea emailed me to let me know that she sent her recently engaged cousin my way, I was thrilled. Andrea emailed me describing a little bit about her wedding day. It was going to be a beautiful purple and yellow wedding (same colors as my wedding in 2011!) with charming DIY vintage details. I knew I wanted to be apart of this day.
Each time I saw Andrea and Jon, first for their engagements and a second time for their first look session, the anticipation of their wedding grew! By time it was time to seal the deal, you could cut the anticipation with a knife! The air was full of a electric joy for these two and the beautiful couple was nothing but smiles the whole day long.
Andrea had a great group of bridesmaids. Some she has known since they were kids, some were related to her, and some have been in her life since college. Either way, you could tell that each one of them meant something special to her.
I loved that we still had some blossoms out. Not just the light pink ones, but the deep magentas. These beautiful flowers do not stay long in Utah, but when they are here, they are stunning. The bright color of these trees and the yellow curb went terrifically alongside Andrea’s wedding colors.
The day wrapped up at Wheeler Historic Farms. It is full of a rich history and serves as a landmark in the Salt Lake Valley. The Barn house is beautiful on its own, but being glittered with details that Andrea brought in made it all the more special. The couple snuggled together on one of Wheeler Farms rustic wooden benches, enjoying their time as newlyweds before the guest started to arrive for their reception.
Andrea, I am madly in love with your ring. It is perfectly unique and beautiful just for you.
Andrea and Jon had a little extra time for some portraits at Wheeler Farms. Bridesmaids and Groomsmen began to showed up as we finished up portraits, each one with excited cheers for their newlywed friends.
So much thought went into decorating the reception. The candy bar was a huge hit with adults and children alike as they munched on their favorite purple and yellow treats.
Here is just ONE example how Andrea is the most thoughtful bride. Jon and her had several family members that were not able to be there to celebrate with them in person. However, she didn’t want them to go without recognition. These beautiful images were of their family. Some had passed away and some where serving church mission in far away countries and couldn’t make it. But as guest looked at these images, you knew they were all there in heart.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Bentley! Your friendship means the world to me and you both are a spectacular couple. I hope you enjoyed your honeymoon and enjoy moving down to Southern Utah for the start of an incredible adventure.
