I love shooting portraits down by Utah Lake. I feel like this day with Mikaylie down the river walkway was one spectacular day for photos. Not to mention she has one of the most brilliant smiles ever and her little dog Jack is adorable. Although he is just a little Doxian, he ran after the other dogs on the walk way like he was large german shepherd. We had just a good time together. I would do this every day if she let me. Enjoy!

And it is not complete without one of Jack….

Often times my husband becomes the subject of my photography experiments. He is such a good sport as I drag him around Salt Lake City asking him to pose for me. I take it as a sign of true love. This last weekend I was borrowing a camera body from a friend and trying out some new prime lenses from Pictureline. So I dragged Trevor out the door on a sunday morning and told him that we are talking more portrait shots…(aka- smile while I try out the lens-) Well, it turns out he could use a new business headshot for all of his professional social media accounts.  Here is one of my favorites from that sunday morning.

I have known Sarah for a long time. I mean a really long time. We went to the same elementary school, middle school, and high school. Played in the same marching band, and were freshman roommates together.  Our brothers were friends, our parents were friends, and I am sure if I had a dog, they would be friends too. Sarah and Alex meet while working together in Salt Lake. I posted images from their bridal session a few weeks ago but never dedicated a post to their engagement session. Alex and Sarah are a great fit together. Their session was full of laughing and teasing on another. They brought their energetic dog Roxie with them and I began to realize how hard it is to make a dog look in one particular way.
